Sauce, Mercer’s latest EP, showcases four dance floor burners. Although his project has strong dubstep roots, its approach is more experimental than usual.

Born and raised in the swamps of Louisiana

On Saturday, February 23rd Corey Levene and Zydeco Trouble will bring their soulful bluesy vocals and hard driving Zydeco beats to Southwest Louisiana audiences for an authentic experience. This band truly delivers live zydeco music!

The 70s Cajun Renaissance, with its emphasis on returning to Louisiana’s French music roots, dealt a serious blow to swamp pop’s reputation. Zydeco and Cajun styles took precedence, and its distinctive characteristics became lost among younger musicians.

However, a new generation of swamp pop has emerged recently and seamlessly blends different musical styles. One such musician is Kelli Ball who has earned numerous honors including being recognized with a 2018 Texas state musician award and has become a regular performer at major music festivals around North America. Her latest release “Shine Bright” radiates hope.
