Lord Huron’s music captures feelings of wanderlust and discovery through their songs about wandering and adventuring – an idea which was explored further with Long Lost, their latest release.
Lord Huron provides an escape from our modern lives with their show at The Fox.
The Band
Even though The Band never reached mainstream popularity, they still managed to create something remarkable: Music From Big Pink was an album which demonstrated what the group could do; featuring both rock and folk influences but remaining their own unique style.
With its blend of American folk and rock songs, this album quickly became a classic. Resonating vocals and dreamlike instrumentals combined to make this special record that many consider the precursor to indie folk.
Lord Huron have once again impressed with their latest album Strange Trails. While their signature style remains intact, some worldbeat and electronic influences can be detected here. There is more variety among their songs which makes the record feel fresh rather than just like another sequel of Lonesome Dreams.
Ben Schneider
Lord Huron offers an escape to faraway times and places through their American indie folk band music. Their dreamy, reverb-soaked melodies allow your imagination to run wild while the lyrics and visual cues provide directions along your journey.
From the snowcapped landscapes of Into the Sun to 2022’s Long Lost, each album from Michigan-bred group Schneider mirrors his craft as an author by unfolding characters and settings of fictional novels into musical form – something his music certainly does!
Ben Schneider has written over 175 professional journal articles and 12 books pertaining to service quality, organizational climate and culture, employee engagement, and service quality issues. Before co-founding BASE with Brian Lazowska in 1996, Schneider served as Senior Vice President at IMAX Corporation before accepting positions at Susquehanna International Group; additionally he holds both a BA from University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mark Barry
Lord Huron fans (dubbed Travelers and World Enders after aspects of the band’s extensive lore) view Lord Huron as more than just an indie folk band from Los Angeles; rather, their music invites listeners into an expansive landscape filled with characters and settings which contribute as much to its art as does its song itself.
Ben Schneider of Michigan first visited Lake Huron to record three songs that would become his Into the Sun EP in 2010. Soon thereafter, it gained massive cult appeal, prompting him to recruit friends such as drummer Mark Barry, bassist Miguel Briseno, guitarists Tom Renaud and Brett Farkas in order to bring these recordings alive with live performances.
Lord Huron’s full-length albums Lonesome Dreams (2012) and Strange Trails (2015) continued the themes of adventure, grit, and nostalgia set into motion by its EPs. But with Vide Noir (or Black Void), Lord Huron took us on an entirely new journey that transcended their traditional landscape.
