Denver bass scene is flourishing, led by rising producer Mersiv. Backed by WAKAAN and MorFlo Records, his music is helping foster an inclusive community dedicated to harnessing the healing powers of sound.
He recently unveiled his latest EP with Wakaan, inviting several Colorado artists to contribute thunderous sounds for Legion of Boom. It marks another in a string of one release per week from Liquid Stranger’s label.
Origins
Mersiv, hailing from Colorado’s Denver Metro region and known for his unique blend of bass music, continues to take his music across the US. Starting off 2019 by touring Portland, Seattle and Eugene before closing out West Coast at Decadence NYE.
Anderson Gallegos, better known by his stage name Mersiv, seeks to inspire listeners through expansive musical interpretation and therapeutic experience. On his debut album Pretty Dark Loud he cemented himself into an emerging electronic subgenre known as Freeform Bass Music.
He’s been an indisputable presence at festivals such as Electric Forest, Bonnaroo and Okeechobee Music Festival; also curating MorFlo Records which champions artists who tap into flow through their art. Recently he collaborated with party-starting dubstep act Tape B to release “Trippy Land”, featuring Three 6 Mafia legend Juicy J.
Styles
Anderson Benoit Gallegos, better known by his stage name Mersiv, has developed an engaging blend of bass music combining dreamy melodies with deep pulsing basslines. Selling out his headlining debut at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre sold-out show proves Gallegos is an innovator within the Freeform genre of electronic dance music.
Gallegos founded MorFlo Records to showcase artists he loves, as well as to recognize underground producers that excite him. Through MorFlo, he mentors emerging talent on his label so they can “tap into flow” through music.
Mersiv Gallegos says his 2024 Out of Bounds Tour is something he’s “always dreamed” of doing, with incredible lighting effects, full LED walls, and subwoofers to provide an engaging auditory experience. Additionally, artist Joseph Allen will curate visual projections that will add another element to this performance – making every show on this national tour eligible to win an ultimate prize – Guest List for Life.

Since his career began in 2015, Anderson Benoit Gallegos – better known by his stage name Mersiv – has been honing his signature style of pretty-dark-loud bass music. Based in Denver and serving as head curator of MorFlo Records, Mersiv seeks to amplify those tapping into flow through art while becoming one of the pioneers in 2024 for freeform bass genre.
Mersiv’s breakout single, “Beautiful & Filthy”, with over 1.6 Million streams on Spotify, earned him an opening slot with Zeds Dead at Red Rocks and his 50-date Beautiful & Filthy Tour. Since then he has gained fans and attention with his unstoppable energy at shows, building fans through positive vibes.
This month, Smoakland joins forces with him on the Method to the Madness Tour and co-headlines the sold-out Digital Night Drive show at Crescent Ballroom. This event showcases their combined sonic talent featuring their distinct hip hop influence combined with thunderous bass.
Future
Gallegos is quickly emerging as one of bass music’s elusive visionaries, with his debut release on Wakaan and multiple festival appearances set for 2020 – setting himself and the Mersiv Sound movement up for another successful year ahead.
The latest release from this project exudes healing energy through ethereal vibrations. After beginning with an expansive build up that is both hopeful and mysterious, the song moves towards an unassuming drop at 1:35 mark; vocal chops drift throughout while sparkly high notes resonate, leaving listeners to contemplate on its masterful unfolding. The outro offers listeners time to reflect upon all that just occurred.
