Sting is an acclaimed musician, songwriter, composer and author whose talents defy categorization. He has made contributions in jazz, folk and punk rock genres; played with legendary groups such as Phoenix Jazzmen and Earthrise; as well as recreating iconic songs of his own for orchestral arrangements.
Recent research has demonstrated that 3’3′-cGAMP acts as a STING agonist to directly kill malignant B cells and normalize tumor vasculatures in cancerous mouse models.

Sting is revered for his sophisticated, adult contemporary pop style and powerful, versatile baritone vocals that span almost four decades of his career. He has earned 17 Grammy awards throughout his lengthy musical journey – as evidenced by an extraordinary 17 year run as one of music history’s best-selling acts.
Sting (born Gordon Sumner in 1951) became famous through the yellow-and-black striped sweater he wore as a child, earning his name due to it. Beginning his musical career singing aboard cruise ships and cabarets before playing bass with Last Exit and dixieland jazz groups such as Dixieland Jazz Groups before landing a gig with rock band the Police where initially Copeland and Summers found it difficult working with him but eventually worked things out between themselves and Sting.
Sting’s 1981 album ‘Ghost in the Machine’ was an outstanding collection with hit singles such as ‘Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic’ and ‘Invisible Sun’ reaching number one on Billboard’s charts. Unfortunately, his follow up Zenyatta Mondatta proved less successful; thus leading him to seek other opportunities elsewhere.
Film
As soon as a 12-year-old girl discovers a spider in her apartment, she attempts to keep it under control by hiding and taming it – until the creature begins growing larger and causing chaos within their building. Sting’s voracious appetite causes it to start devouring pets and residents; simultaneously Charlotte’s relationship with her step-father becomes tenuous as his biological status remains unknown to him.
Although this film offers laughs, its primary goal is horror and suspense. Through careful camerawork and editing, Sting is easily felt everywhere the audience may go.
Australian director Roache-Turner is well known for crafting low-budget skin-crawlers, yet this film stands out. Its tight focus and impressive animatronic creation from Weta Workshop (known for their work on King Kong and Lord of the Rings), make this movie truly frightening while leaving very little character development for viewers to focus on. The result is an entertaining horror-comedy that delivers both thrills and laughs without becoming tediously over-dramatised.

Sting is an internationally acclaimed British musician best known as one of the founders of rock group The Police alongside Stewart Copeland and Henry Padovani in 1978. Between 1978 and 1983, The Police enjoyed five UK chart-topping albums and six Grammy awards, topped by their most well-known song: Every Breath You Take which became number one most played song on US radio stations. He currently shares four children with Trudie Styler as his second wife; furthermore he has appeared in a variety of television shows such as Poldark Midsomer Murders and Sherlock Holmes among others.

Homologues of STING have been found in epithelial and endothelial cells as well as haematopoietic cells such as T cells, macrophages and plasmacytoid dendritic cells4, while it can also be induced by double-stranded DNA viruses, certain bacteria and transfected DNA6,7.
Autobiography
Sting was born Gordon Sumner in 1951 in Wallsend, England. Influenced by both of his parents, Sting began playing guitar at age 12 after inheriting their early passion for music. Since then, Sting has recorded 17 solo albums, earned 17 Grammy awards, had credits in film, theatre and book publishing projects as well as being honored with Queen Elizabeth’s CBE honorary title.
In 1999, his most successful album to date ‘Brand New Day’ was released with its optimistic title track inspiring listeners across the world. Subsequent years saw releases like All This Time, Sacred Love, and Songs from the Labyrinth which features English music from 1600s.
Sting performed alongside Dominic Miller, Vinnie Colaiuta and Kathryn Tickell during a US tour that released an album titled ‘If on a Winter’s Night’. Additionally he conducted development performances of his work-in-progress musical play “The Last Ship” in Newcastle.
